This is my first Charles Darwin Day as an atheist.
Before now, I never gave Darwin much thought
Today is Darwin’s birthday. Born on February 2nd 1809. I look forward to the day that Darwin’s birthday is a respected national holiday.

Why Do I Bother
I may be a Brand New Atheist but I exist. If I don't make my voice heard, you will have an opportunity to claim I don't exist. If I don't explain my point of view, you can say I don't have one. I see your religious buildings, your religious billboards and I hear your threats of damnation. I reject your religious reality and substitute it with one that makes sense. I will not be quiet because I am the minority. I will not be quiet because you don't like what I say. I will continue to prove to you that I exist. I will not constrain my mind to the unprovable teachings of your ancient text, I will use my mind in the best way I see fit. -

I don't know you but I helped you push your stalled car • I won't loan you money but I'll give you a ride • I held the door open for you • I adopt • I play video games • I surf on my computer • I watch Battlestar Galactica • I live in your neighborhood • I'm your friend • I'm in your family • I work hard to support my family • I love and want to be loved
